…Lagos State PPRO, Alhaji Suraju others to grace occasion
The median edition of Alimosho Kids Football Tournament 2020 kicks off on Monday March 16,at the Ejigbo Mini Stadium, Ejigbo. The tournament which is an inter-schools competition is geared towards identifying sporting talents and curbing the increasing rates of social vices among youths through sporting activities.
According to the organiser and the Chief Executive Officer of St Bishop Communication Limited. Mr. Stanley Ihedigbo, the competition is to catch them young using sporting activities in prevent youths from going into crime as its no longer news of pupils engaging in drugs and cultism related crimes. He noted that the event aside sporting activities will also provide an avenue to speak to the lads between the ages of 12 and 13 on the negative effects of engaging in drugs, cultism, rape and crimes in general.
He further reiterated that activities towards a hitch free event are in top gear as the event will feature both boys and girls in primary and Junior Senior Secondary schools in Alimosho Local Government Area in various games such as football, lawn tennis, table tennis and scrabble. The opening ceremony is expected to start a 10:00 am with the kick off of the first game at 11:00 am prompt.
Participating schools include; Muslim College Egbe, Fun World International College, Solana College, Preshfaith Secondary School, Latmos College, Jane Pillar Secondary School,Ikotun Technical College amongst other. The schools have also been advised not to engage in any act that will bring the tournament to disrepute in a means to emerge winners.
Dignitaries expected to grace the opening of the event include the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, HEDA Resources Centre, Alhaji Olanrewaju Suraju, the Founder of Youthslens Movement of Nigeria(YMN), Ms. Juliana Francis, while the Vice President of Preshfaith Education Centre, Lolo Juliet Akanador, businessman, Comrade Kingsley Ibeh, the Vice Chairmen of Igando/Ikotun and Egbe/Idimu Local Council Development Areas are expected to attend the closing ceremony.
Hosts of corporate organisations expected at the event include Nigerian Breweries Plc for non alcoholic drinks, Seven Up Bottling Company, Polaris Bank Plc, Munch-It amongst others.
