Residents of Temidire and Akinshilo streets in Meiran community of Alimosho LGA are calling on authorities concerned and the police in particular for more security presence in their community. The desperate call is necessitated from the rising cases of armed robbery in their community.
The community witnessed two cases of robbery during the week as members of an armed gang visited the area on Tuesday and Thursday nights which has thrown the community into panic, according to a resident who pleaded anonymity. She said the gang of robbers in their large numbers visited the area on Tuesday night and succeeded in their operations following the lack of the security presence; while the community was yet to recover from the shock they repeated the visit on Thursday night, the experiences have now thrown the community into a panic mode as residents are scared of reoccurrence.
When our correspondent asked on what the CDA is doing , she confirmed that the first incident was reported to the Meiran Police Station with no action seen been taking before their return on Thursday which has made the matter worse and appealing on the State government, Police and other security agencies for more protection.
