In his preparation to bid farewell to the office of the sole administrator Alimosho Local Government Area Honourable Ganiu Quadri Ishola invited Community leaders, CDC, CDAs, employees of Alimohso LGA and the men of the press to hand over his score card of his one year reign as the Sole Administrator.
The event which will culminate into the election of his successor slated with members of the Pooling Boot presenting him a gift in appreciation of his dealings since appointed the sole administrator. Some of them that spoke to us said that he has been able to carry all along no matter their status and calibre in Alimosho and confirming his resolute in making sure that their welfare is paramount to his office.
Then it was time to present to the press his list of achievements in one year in office despite the paucity of funds and the economic challenges of the country. He started by saying that his administration was able to achieve all they could by his openness and ability to listen to all without minding cadres. With gratitude to his team for supports, they have been able to take Alimosho LGA to the highest level
Firstly Infrastructures, they embarked on providing a befitting Secretariat; noting that upon resumption to office the secretariat which converted from an abandoned Secondary School due to the perennial flooding, his administration embarked on sand-filing of the entire secretariat; today the flooding is now history. Also there was not enough toilets in the secretariat which resulted to several loss of man hour of labour as employees were left at the mercy of the banks and eateries around to ease themselves; today to the glory of God, Alimosho LGA has befitting toilets not for employees alone but for the guests also. According to him, “The Administrative block of the LGA was nothing but a glorified poultry when we came in; but today we are proud that we have one; not just the building but fully equipped with modern facilities. You will also agree with me that this year the usual flooding at the Jimoh and Micom bus stops were not seen this year, which was as a result of our administration dislodging the drainage around those areas, also we embarked on the filling of Oladipupo Fafore Street in Santos Layout. The first park in Alimosho was achieved by this administration’s partnership with Lagos State Parks and Garden Agency (LASPARK) and the Borehole constructed at the Olugbede Model Market which will be commissioned today.
In Health, when my administration came on board, we took it upon ourselves to make sure that the alarming rate of mortality in Alimosho is reduced to its barest minimum which often time was as a result of operational hours at the health centres, we embarked on employment of health workers in a bid of having a 24 hours of services in these health centres; today two of these health centres are running on 24 hours while the third has increased from 7 hours to 17hours with efforts on going to achieve a 24 hour services. These tasks were not easy ones as we had to adjust so many operations of the LGA to accommodate.
Internally generated Revenue (IGR), my administration undertook a technological drive in ways of reducing leakages of LGA funds into employee’s pockets as we created automated system of receipts of payment directly into the LGA purse, and the results are what you see today. We have built confidence in the minds of residents on how their taxes are spent which has also become a propelling tool for them to pay their rates as at when due. Today I can confirm to you that the IGR has grown further from where we met it.
In terms of Security; we have synergised with all the security agencies by constantly meeting with them to review our security challenges and profer solutions. Alimosho LGA today is one of the safest LGA in Lagos State if not in Nigeria at large. Also there was a rift with the LGA host community when we came in but through dialogues we have been able to resolve that. The Olugbede Model Market has not witnessed any development prior to this administration owing to several litigations between the shop owners and the LGA, but today its history and the market is undergoing a major development after its commissioning by the governor emeritus Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2003.”
Obama as fondly called by admires said he has no regrets in coming to serve as the Sole administrator of Alimosho LGA; in his words “I came saw and conquered” and when asked of his nest political moves he simply said he will be waiting for God’s direction.

Mr Sunday Adisa member of the pooling agents in Alimosho LGA said he would like Hon. Quadri to come back the second time as he has done marvellously well with respect to their welfare. The chairman of chairmen of pooling units, Alimosho Mr Babatunde said the achievements of Honourable Ganiu was awesome. Comrade Lateef the NULGE Chairman Alimosho, in his words said that Hon Quadri is not a boss but a leader and that his administration was that of harmony. He also urges him to remain focus. Miss Okeowo said that honourable Ganiu is a problem solver; as he attends to any problem brought to him no matter the person. Alhaji Yusuf the first CDC chairman of Alimosho commended Hon. Ganiu on his achievements while praying that God will direct him in all his affairs. The Alimosho Party Chairman also attested to the good work of Honourable Quadri and aslo prayed for more wisdom for him to grow in his political career.
