Goldberg unveiled as official Beer of 2014 Osun Oshogbo Festival

One of Nigerian Breweries products; GOLDBERG LAGER BEER has been adopted as the OFFICIAL BEER of the Osun Oshogbo Festival for the second year running
The disclosure was made during the Osun Oshogbo Festival Programme unveiling & Corporate Forum, held recently in Lagos to officially announce the series of activities that will mark this year’s festival.
The Ataoja of Oshogbo Land, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji, Olanipekun II, commended Goldberg for its steadfast commitment and support to the festival and the Yoruba culture.
“It goes without saying that the Osun Oshogbo Festival is regarded as a very important festival, not only in Yoruba land and Nigeria, but also in the world. The event is a huge tourist attraction that lures the global community to Oshogbo in Osun State. Goldberg’s identification with the celebrations shows the brand’s commitment to the customs and values of the Yoruba people, and we are happy about it.” He said.
According to the paramount ruler, Goldberg’s participation in the event will make the celebrations more memorable than previous editions. “As organizers, we always try our best to make sure that everyone who participates in the festivities takes away a unique experience. With Goldberg’s involvement in this year’s edition, we are sure that it will be even bigger and better than what we had in the past.”
Speaking in the same vein, the Governor of Osun State, who was represented by Oladipo Soyode, the Special Adviser on Home Affairs, Tourism and Culture, also praised Goldberg for the sponsorship initiative.
He noted that Goldberg’s efforts will not only bring more glamour and excitement to the festivities, but will also contribute to the local economy of Osun State. “We are always grateful when corporate organizations contribute their quota to an important cause like this. Goldberg’s involvement, no doubt, will bring more glamour to the event and contribute to the local economy of the people of Osun State, which will consequently increase their disposable income,” he said.
On his part, Mr. Mfon Bassey, the Brand Manager, Goldberg, Nigerian Breweries Plc, said the brand was very happy to be associated with this age-old Nigerian festival that is very dear to the people of Oshogbo and the western region in general. According to him, as Nigeria’s premier and largest brewing company with a portfolio of high quality brands, Nigerian Breweries has partnered with this festival over the years and for the second year running, the Goldberg brand is proud to be part of the Osun Oshogbo festival as the “OFFICIAL BEER SPONSOR”.
He said the brand has continued to keep its consumers actively engaged all year round through exciting consumer engagement platforms as well as promotion of the traditions of the people. He said the Osun Oshogbo Festival is one cultural celebration that everyone looks forward to with great anticipation.
Giving details of Goldberg’s participation at this year’s Osun Oshogbo Festival, he revealed that amongst the numerous activities the brand will be showcasing the 21 day Goldberg Beer Fiesta where the people of Oshogbo and visitors will be exposed to an unforgettable beer experience with lots of music, comedy and rewards.
