The newly elected Executive Chairman of Igando-Ikotun LCDA says her administration is all embracing to investors into her constituency. In a brief interview with Abel Lazarus, she bares her mind on her plans from where she left the LCDA two years ago and her next move to repositioning Igando-Ikotun LCDA.
    Excerpts:
TAM: Can We meet you ma?
MAW: My names are Honourable Morenike Adeshina Williams, the executive chairman of Igando-Ikotun LCDA.

TAM: This is your second term in office and what would you say has changed this time?
MAW: You are right this is my second term in office as the executive chairman in office and what I would say has changed is that the role of leadership is now more focused to the grassroot much more than before which my administration is keying into to providing the desired services to the good people of Igando-Ikotun LCDA.
TAM: What would you say is your blueprint this term?
MAW: My first term was an all-inclusive administration and that will be replicated in this term as we hope to even reach further to more people in the grassroot, we are going to complete some of the project that were not completed in the last term and embark on new ones, we are going to improve on the healthcare within the LCDA to reduce mortality rate, last term we were able to renovate all the health centres but this term we are going to step up their activities for more quality services. The youths are not left out as we are going to be partnering with them in securing jobs from the state government; also we are going to be employing more of non-pensionable staff at the LCDA so as to empower them. We shall also be introducing computer based training for the youths to properly equip them for them to meet with the technological challenges of 21st century.
TAM: His Excellency has reiterated on his plans to relocate the computer village to Katangowa area of Agbado-Okeodo; how is your administration going to key into this as it will boost the economic value of Alimosho in general?
MAW: It’s a welcome development and it will indeed improve on the internally generated revenue of the entire Alimosho and we are under studying it already, we are also speaking with other multinationals and financial institutions to come into Igando-Ikotun.
TAM: The population is thriving commerce in your LCDA, how are you going to harness this to increase your IGR?
MAW: Like I said earlier we are speaking with banks to come into Igando-Ikotun LCDA, presently we have about two to three functioning banks and they have shown their willingness to come. Once the banks come their businesses will be further empowered and by so doing the government will benefit from it. We are also keen not to hamper their growth.
TAM: How have you been participating in the Clean-up Lagos initiative?
MAW: It is paramount to us, like it is said cleanliness is next to godliness, we have set a daily routine in motion that sees our truck move round the LCDA to collect refuse, we are particular about our environment as we detest filthiness in Igando-Ikotun. On a daily basis, I review the position with my environmental officer.
