In a bid to curb kidnapping and other related crimes often carried out by criminals with the aid of motorcycles, the Lagos State Police Command on Saturday crushed 482 commercial motorcycles (Okada) that were impounded on restricted roads across the state.
The Motorcycles were crushed at the Alausa Secretariat, lkeja.
Mr. Hakeem Odumosu, the Commissioner of Police said the exercise has been on since the enforcement started but carried out publicly on Saturday.
“It was to convince members of the public especially the doubting Thomas that the impounded motorcycles are actually being crushed contrary to insinuations by mischief makers that the motorbikes are being sold and recycled,” he said.
