The convener of Atiku campaign Movement worldwide (ACMW) Barrister Segun Michael has vowed to deliver not less than 15 million votes nationwide amongst several other like minded associations/movements votes to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar come 2019 general elections. Michael said this after the movements’ strategic meeting in Lagos today (Sunday).

Barrister Michael stated that the present sufferings of Nigerians cannot afford to be extended for another four years under guise as the present architecture of the APC led federal government has failed Nigerians. He noted that Nigerians were cajoled with a promise for a change in 2015 which has eluded them for the past three and half years and any attempt to renew or extend the tenure will mean extinction of the Nigeria project that has been characterized by the ceaseless killings, impunity, economic squandering, and untold hardships on Nigerians amongst several other ills.

The government has demonstrated her inability, ineptitude and vision less leadership and has continually blamed past governments in her entire life thereby failing to provide any meaningful contribution to uplifting the life of Nigerians which was the core reason of the massive votes given to her in 2015. Her charade of fighting
corruption has remained a joke as corruption has been glorified under the same administration without the will to prosecute perpetrators yet parades itself as fighting corruption. He further stated that in the fifty eight years of the republic call Nigeria, there has never been such a time the country is so much divided along all her ethnic and geopolitical zones.

The economy of the country has continued to struggle despite being the biggest and fastest growing economy in 2015. It has nosedived into recession in the life of administration as a result of her insensitivity and lack of understanding of modern day economics dynamisms. The recovery from recession has remained highly marginal as there are indication the economy might backslide again despite the increase in the price of crude in the last four months. Also the debt profile of the country has grown beyond the sky without any meaningful improvement in the life of Nigerians. The government has remained insincere with her dealings with subsidy regime despite promising not to pay subsidy and the increase in the pump price of premium motor spirit (PMS) from N85.00 to N145.00 at assumption of office without any justification whatsoever

Nigerians no longer have hope of surviving as all promises made prior to her emergence have remained elusive, the degree of job loss has sky rocketed with no precedent, cost of living has gone over the boards, businesses are shutting down on a daily basis, Nigerian professionals are leaving the country in their numbers for hope elsewhere. As a movement we are mobilizing Nigerians from every nooks and crannies to come to their realization as we accept that Alhaji may not be the Messiah we need but he will definitely bring Nigeria back on track and a far better option compared to what we have currently hence it highly expedient to draw the supports not just for Atiku but for the emancipation of Nigerians.

He reiterated that the movement is not affiliated to any political party therefore it will reach out to all Nigerians to see the basis for the the true change. Thank God we have a Fulani and a Muslim currently and rooting for another Fulani Fulani. For the later to replace the former to replace the current with the difference being the ability of the former to understand the economy. With his experience in running several businesses it is an edge above what we have. It is impossible to rule Nigeria if you have not been able to take loan from banks to run business and pay back there is no way you can be able to manage a nation’s economy.

Alhaji Atiku knows what it takes to creat jobs as he has over fifty thousand direct and countless indirect employees and we are confident will be improved upon base on his wealth of experience and performances during his leadership of the economic team during his reign as the Vice President; the period that remains the best economic team Nigeria has ever had. Nigerians deserve good governance and that is our focal point as a movement this we strongly believe will accrue to every Nigerian without minding your tribe, religion and ethnicity as he has demonstrated his nationalism in every sphere of his political career.

Barrister Michael concluded by saying that as a non partisan movement that members will be mobilized to support for Atiku towards the elections through all her coordinators spread across the 36 States of the federation and call for his removal in the event he renege on our expectations as a people. He urged the present administration to further position herself as a formidable and a viable opposition the role they played very well prior to 2015 general elections while demanding Nigerians to be mindful of what they desire at this time and avoid being misled by propagandas of any kind as their emancipation lies in their hands. Our support for Atiku is issue based devoid of any form of propaganda which could be felt from the pulse of the ordinary man on the street.
