Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, has confirmed he would be fit for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON in Cameroon next month if selected.
He made this known via his Twitter handle on Tuesday amid reports that Super Eagles officials would be meeting to decide on players to be invited.
There had been doubt over the player’s availability after sustained an injury and subsequent had a facial surgery.
The 2021 Africa Cup of Nations is expected to hold in Cameroon next month.
“I will be available for AFCON unless I’m not among the players picked to represent Nigeria,” Osimhen twitted.
Napoli doctors will be with Osimhen when the three-time African champions begin preparations for the 33rd Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
Osimhen, who has been training individually at his base in Naples after undergoing surgery on his fractured cheekbone, is expected to be listed in the Eagles squad for the tournament.
Nigeria have been drawn in Group D with Egypt, Guinea-Bissau and Sudan and they will open their campaign against the Pharaohs at Roumde Adjia Stadium on January 11 before taking on Sudan four days later. Their final fixture is against Guinea-Bissau on January 19.
Osimhen scored nine goals in 14 games before his injury for Napoli and he was also top scorer during the AFCON qualifying series, notching up five goals.
