    Picture Illustrating Culture

There is palpable fear gripping Mba Chukwu kingdom in Ikwuano L.G.A of Abia State. A case of moral and cultural conflict capable of leading to numerous deaths if not properly handled.

Our reporter took a trip to the kingdom to ascertain the facts about the imbroglio that has been in street news for quite some time. A member of the royal family Prince Ikechukwu Obasi who granted audience to our reporter gave an insight into the matter.
According to Prince Ikechukwu, one Prince CHIADIKOBI OBASI (the man in the eye of the storm )is his cousin and a member of the Obasi Royal Family with blue blood running in his veins.

Trouble began when Prince CHIADIKOBI OBASI blantantly refused to present himself for initiation into the IDA OGBOM cult which is compulsory for all members of the royal family. Prince CHIADIKOBI alleged that such initiation contravened his Christian belief. However, Prince Ikechukwu maintained that membership of the cult group was not optional to a member of the royal family and that refusal is met with dare consequences.
All entreaties to call Prince CHIADIKOBI to reason fell on deaf ears.

While the royal family was grappling with the situation and options available, Prince CHIADIKOBI committed the worst sacrilege in MBA Chukwu kingdom . Prince CHIADIKOBI was caught pants down having sex with a fellow man known as Emmanuel few years back. This is an abomination and the gods must be appeased. According to Prince Ikechukwu, the royal family reported Prince CHIADIKOBI to the police in December 2022 for series of immorality but Prince CHIADIKOBI ran away and has been hiding.

Our reporter went further to interview the king to get his own side of the story, especially on the implications of the sacrilege on the kingdom. According to the king, Eze Chidozie Obasi, prince CHIADIKOBI’s abominable act will definitely spell doom for the kingdom except atoned. For instance , it will lead to ‘Okoro eto’ in the royal family ( i.e. untimely death of young males in the royal family). Again, the farm lands will reject all crops planted leading to famine. This he said will be unbearable for the kingdom that depends solely on farming.
When asked the way forward, the king said that the only way out was for Prince CHIADIKOBI to return home and atone for his sin and join the IDA OGBOM cult. He said he will either return dead or alive… just a matter of time.

Our reporter visited the family house of Prince CHIADIKOBI but met it deserted. It was gathered that all his family members have all ran away for fear of transferred aggression.
On our part, we shall continue to explore all angles to the issue . We shall not pass judgement on anyone until we are able to hear from Prince Chiadikaobi. Rather, we are sueing for amicable solution to the crisis .
In the same vein, we call on relevant authorities – the government, religious bodies, Civil society groups, etc to make hay now that the sun is still shinning.
Efforts should be made to reconcile Prince CHIADIKOBI and the royal family.
