Abeokuta Expressway was further thrown into chaos this morning following a head on collision involving two commercial buses.
An eye witness said that one the buses popularly known as danfo fully loaded with passengers was heading inward Ikeja but had to take one-way due the usual traffic further worsened by the ongoing road construction. The witness noted that as a result of the driver’s high speed to beat being eventually caught by any of the law enforcement agencies he lost control and collided with another commercial bus LT 300 inward Iyana-Ipaja.
The impact of the collision the danfo fell into the newly constructed BRT lanes thereby causing a serious traffic jam on the axis.
The accident resulted to several degrees of injuries as there was no casualty at the scene. As at time of filling this reports efforts are ongoing by members of the Nigerian Police and LASTMA to evacuate the wreckages to give way to free flow of traffic.
