Emeka Nwoye, a 22-year-old Disc Jokey (DJ) from Enugu State, has allegedly hung himself at Agbado- Okeodo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State.

The deceased reportedly lived with his parents at No. 38, Olakunle Domingo Close, Off Popoola Street, Ikola Ojugbele.

He was said to have locked himself in on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 in the evening when his parents were yet to return from work and allegedly carried out the suicide.

Mr Nwoye, his father, who is a retired police officer, said that Emeka’s dangling body was discovered at about 10:10 pm on Wednesday.

The deceased’s elder brother, Godday Nwoye, said that Emeka, before his death, was receiving treatment for an illness he returned with from a journey he embarked on along with his friend a few weeks ago.

At the scene, it was observed that the height of the living room where he allegedly hung himself was barely higher than his own height. This triggered questions from some members of the crowd.

However, police from the Meiran Division have been invited by the family to commence an investigation, while efforts were ongoing to evacuate the corpse as at press time.
