Residents of Babalola/ Bayo Oyegbemi/ Bammeke Oguntade streets and Coker estate of Orinsunbare area of Alimosho Local Council Development Authorities are now breathing a sign of relive on the award and commencement of work on the surface dressing of the Bammeke Street down to Coker road junction.
This project when completed will cut across major routes of Shasha and environs and will attract further developments to these areas, the resident were full of thanks as they said they are now reaping the dividends of democracy, they did not fail to appeal to the Lagos state ministry of works to make sure that the contractor completes the project in good time. A motorist who pleaded anonymity said he can now save some money from frequent repair of his car’s shock absorber and other as a result of bad road.
The contract which was awarded to Pickaxe Nigeria Limited an indigenous construction company though was expected to last three months, but the site engineer who anonymously said the delays were due to some logistics and change in weather- early rains, but he also confirmed his company’s willingness to complete the project despite the challenges. Lagos state has witnessed early rain this year and it has contributed to the delay in completing this project as buttressed by the sight engineer.
