The Cleaner Lagos Initiative launched by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in 2017 seem to be failing residents of Alimosho and Mosan-Okunola LCDAs as major roads and streets are gradually becoming dumping sites as there are no complimenting efforts from the LGAs/LCDAs.

Our correspondent who confirmed that a drive within the major streets of these two LGA/LCDA will only live one to wonder if the Cleaner Lagos Initiative is only meant for the Governor Ambode alone.

A drive on the Egbeda-Idimu Road leaves one with the ugly sight of bags of refuse dumped on the pavements while a lane of the road at Egbeda bus stop is already taken over. Micom and Baale bus stops are not left out as the heaps are growing on a daily basis. For residents of Remi Ogunjimi, Jezza and Okunola bus stop they have been left with no choice but to cope with the dump sites on their streets and bus stop.

On one’s way towards Iyana-Paja the gory site be holds one at the popular Alimosho bus stop while that of Iyana-Paja is growing on a per second basis owing to the commercial state of the environment. While on Akowonjo Road by Oando fuel station, the drainage is already blocked and no effort is on hand to check it before it degenerates.

Some residents who pleaded anonymity expressed concern over the health hazards of the development while some claimed to have paid their bill up to date yet nothing is been done. At the Egbeda market some of the traders complained bitterly as they are now compelled to do their business beside these heaps of refuse.
