    President Bola Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has given the nod for an immediate overhaul of key health infrastructure and equipment across all six geo-political zones, aligning with his commitment to revitalize Nigeria’s health and social welfare sector.

The Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative, spearheaded by President Tinubu, prioritizes the comprehensive upgrade of cancer-treatment infrastructure in six tertiary hospitals, ensuring widespread access to high-quality healthcare. The following teaching hospitals will house state-of-the-art oncology and nuclear medicine centers:

    1. University of Benin Teaching Hospital
    2. Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital
    3. University of Nigeria (Nsukka) Teaching Hospital
    4. Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina
    5. University of Jos Teaching Hospital
    6. Lagos University Teaching Hospital

Additionally, ten critical health care service expansion projects spanning radiology, clinical pathology, medical and radiation oncology, and cardiac catheterization will be implemented in hospitals across all geo-political zones, with delivery expected within 12-18 months.

    Notable projects include:

    – Reference Hospital, Kaduna (North-West)
    – Medical Diagnostic Centre Complex, Enugu (South-East)
    – Usman Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto (North-West)
    – University College Hospital, Ibadan (South-West)
    – University of Uyo Teaching Hospital (South-South)
    – Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi (North-East)
    – Federal Medical Centre, Asaba (South-South)
    – Harmony Advanced Diagnostic Centre Complex, Ilorin (North-Central)
    – Jos University Teaching Hospital (North-Central)
    – Federal Medical Centre, Nguru (North-East)

These initiatives aim to enhance disease screening, diagnostics, and treatment modalities, ultimately reducing mortality rates and creating job opportunities. President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda continues to drive transformative change across Nigeria’s health landscape.
