Organized Labour Coalitions have carried out the protest action across the states of the federation.
The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) Comrade Joe Ajero led the procession in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja on August 2,202, the protesters marched to the National Assembly where the gate was said to have been pulled down.
Reports have it that state chairmen are replicating same across the federation.
The NLC is protesting against some of the policies of Tinubu’s ministration that have thrown Nigerians into untold hardship
The union is therefore demanding a reversal of pump price of fuel to N187.00 while the government fears efforts towards repairing of the nation’s refineries.
This protest is coming after the president had appealed to Nigerians for patience and promised the workers a new regime of salaries but some of the labour leaders disagree with the president sighting that his promises lack modalities and a definite time lag hence the protests
The labour leaders are yet to determine how long the protest would last as it would review activists across the states on a daily basis.
While many believe that the protests would further add to the painful situation and that the protests might be hijacked.
There has not been any statement from the presidency as at time of filing this story
