Lagos State today joins its Southern states as Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu signs the anti-open grazing bill into law.
It would be recalled that the State’s House of Assembly passed the anti-open grazing bill two weeks ago along side with the VAT bill that got the governor’s assent earlier.
The Chairman House Committee on Agriculture and Cooperative, Hon. Kehinde Joseph, speaking with journalists after the passage of the bill, said that the anti-open grazing bill was a sensitive one but equally a bill for the peaceful co-existence of the people of Lagos state.
KJ as fondly called said the bill when assented by the governor would protect the citizens, farmers and herders operating in the state, adding that it would also enhance the economy of the state.
He stated that henceforth anybody engaging in open-grazing would be made to face the full wrath of the law, calling on everyone to support the bill for peaceful coexistence
