Prince Idris Balogun aka Oluomo Kafata as fondly addressed by his admirers and with his Alimosho constituency and even beyond is not known to be a cerebral talker that speaks to impress rather he is a man of few words who speaks to express while his works speak the loudest. His presumed political antagonists have mocked him forgetting that; like Sir Shina Peters once sang “grammar grammar grammar no be my language”.
Kafata in recent months has emerged from the Alimosho political landscape as a movement far and beyond the clogs of its opposition; demonstrating his disapprobation of the political leadership style where only few are beneficiaries. He has validated why he is a blueblood of Isheri Olofin and that of Lagos state at large as a prince. His quest to helping the downtrodden through numerous philanthropies programs that knows no- boundaries cutting across tribes and religions. In bridging the huge existing gap between the led and leaders he has embarked on grading of roads just to ameliorate the lives of the people of Alimosho Federal Constituency.
Politically, Kafata has not pretended or minced words on his aspirations of unseating or for a better choice of word replacing the current member of the House Representative representing Alimosho federal constituency Honourable Olufemi Adabanjo aka “Eyes Open” in the forthcoming 2023 general elections; as he is already garnering more supports by the day due to his service to humanity and yet he has not relented but has remained on course to see better lives for Alimosho people.
In the twenty two years of Nigeria’s democracy Kafata is yet to be traced to any political office that may have allowed him comer some commonwealth rather he has continually reached to his deep pockets in putting smiles on the faces out shinning the combined scanty gesture of all the entire elected political officials representing Alimosho federal constituency at both State and the National Assembly.
In 2020 during the Covid 19 lockdown when politicians were hiding and hoarding palliatives meant for the citizens for their cheap political gains, he reached out through personal social intervention programs touching lives of many residents thereby cushioning the effect of the lockdown while most of the elected officials were hibernating for the fear of spending the peoples’ money in their custody. His role in quashing the breakdown of law and order originating from the hijacked #ENDSARS protest can never be over emphasized as he demonstrated his dexterity in crisis management through personal engagements and appeals that doused the tension that would have engulfed Alimosho LGA.
Aside demonstrating his love for his constituents which has endeared him to all his goof dealings he has further raised the bar not just as a challenge for those political statuettes but also to their pipers that dictates their tunes and off course to his would be co-aspirants; he has thrown a big challenge well ahead of time with the launching of first batch of his free school bus in Alimosho; a feet not even the combined six LG/LCDA can venture into or their pay masters who have demonstrated selfishness in amassing the commonwealth of Alimosho for themselves and their cronies.
With these achievements accruing to his name, it’s obvious that the political landscape of Alimosho has changed hence there are possibilities of growing animosity from the camps of his numerous oppositions both known and unknown who may wish to discredit him through unimaginable means thereby sand footing the progress wheel of Alimosho ; hence it’s time for the people of Alimosho to rise and defend theirs by joining voices with Alimosho Youth Development Association of Nigeria {AYDAN} in condemning any act of vandalism of these buses as they are no longer properties of Prince Idris Balogun but that of Alimosho. It’s time for the people to rise and protect their property irrespective of party affiliations, religion and tribes; Alimosho MUST surely will be great again!.
