…Motorists groan over abandoned collapsed culvert
For months running, motorists plying the Okunola Road in Mosan Okunola LCDA have been subjected to untold hardship as the road condition has continually degenerated from bad to worse.
The road which is one of the accessible routes in the LCDA has been heralded with life threatening portholes even before the elections of the new administration and had left many thinking it will be one of the first projects to be embarked upon after assuming office. Reverse has been the case.
Currently, accessing the road from Egbeda has become a nightmare as the collapsed culvert which has been left unattended to by all relevant authorities now poses a life threatening or better still a death trap waiting for its victim as motorist are now compelled to go through what seem like the biblical valley of the shadow of death in connecting the LCDA via this point. The situation is made worse by the nuisance usually constituted by tricycle and motor bike riders hustling for passengers which adds to the bottleneck on the Idimu-Egbeda road.
Our efforts to get words from the Supervisory Councillor on Works Hon. Ladoja proved abortive as his line was not connecting and no reply on SMS sent to the Executive Chairman as at press time.
We therefore appeal for urgent attention to alleviate the suffering of residents and motorists.
