Residents of Powerline and Mayowa Olakanye Street appeal to relevant authorities to save imminent loss of lives and properties from the growing trading under the high tension cables at the illegal Odemuyiwa Market in Mosan Okunola Local Council Development Authority.

Narrating the dangers inherent, a resident who pleaded anonymity said the traders are less concerned on the dangers of their activities in spite of witnessing the last time the one of the cables dropped although there was no harm due to the fact that the dropped cable was on the receiving side and not the supplying end. They were warned of what would have happened is the otherwise had happened yet the market has continually expanded with make shifts and containers which make it even worse in the event of electrocution.
He further stated that market has further contributed to insecurity to the environment as a result of the shanties that are been constructed on a daily basis with degrees of young men loitering around it which has resulted to regular vandalism of cars in the neighbourhood also to a very poor sanitation which could lead to outbreak diseases especially at this time the country is battling with cholera and the most recent outbreak of Monkey Pox in some South-South States.Mayowa Olakanye Street Mayowa Olakanye Street [/caption
