The perpetual poor network quality of Nigeria’s telecommunications companies has reached boiling point, sparking frustration and discontent among millions of subscribers. The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) must break its silence and hold these companies accountable for their subpar services.
Daily, Nigerians struggle with dropped calls and failed connections, slow data speeds and incessant buffering, inconsistent network coverage and exorbitant charges for inadequate services
These issues hinder productivity, commerce, and social interactions, perpetuating a culture of inefficiency.
The poor network quality
continues to stifles economic growth and development, discourages foreign investment, increases costs for businesses and individuals, undermines Nigeria’s global competitiveness
Despite numerous complaints, the NCC remains eerily silent. Its inaction has further emboldened telecom companies to maintain substandard services, fosters a lack of accountability and transparency, betrays the trust of Nigerian consumers
Its time for the NCC to wake up to its responsibilities by; conduct thorough investigations into network quality, impose stringent penalties on defaulting telecom companies, establish clear benchmarks for service delivery and provide regular updates on network improvement plans
Nigerians should rise and demand for immediate investment in infrastructure upgrades, enhanced customer service and support, transparent billing and charging systems and regular
network maintenance upgrade and expansion
Nigerians deserve better. The NCC and telecom companies must prioritize quality services, accountability, and consumer satisfaction.
