Despite recent pictures on the social media of havocs caused by indiscriminate dumping of refuse even with the efforts of the Lagos state government in curbing the menace with its imposition of severe sanctions and orders for arresting defaulters, yet; this perhaps requires more actions than words to arresting this ugly development as proved by the growing dump site on 3RD Avenue on Abesan Estate in Mosan-Okunola LCDA of Alimosho LGA.
3RD Avenue before now had remained one of the venerated avenues in Abesan community but that seem to have been trashed as it now hosts the latest dump site in Lagos state as its entire road is littered with growing heaps of refuse.
Aside from the health implication of the indiscriminate action these refuse are washed by the flash floods from the persistent rains. There is therefore for urgent need to redress this development to forestall its impending damages to the health of residents and the environment.
