The Executive Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Jelili Sulaimon has kick started Operation Light Up Alimosho with the installations of installation of transformer and electric poles on answered the call of the people of Oluwagbebe street, Shasha. The installed transformer will serve the duo of Oluwagbebe and Hafsat streets.
The vice chairman and supervisory for works, Hon. Prince Francis Adebisi said, “the transformer installation and electrical pole will enable the people of Oluwagbebe have access to a regular power supply than what is currently obtainable and will improve the living standard and the development of the community as well as creating job opportunities for the youths especially the artisans and SMEs/MSMEs.
The CDC chairman, Mr. Akano while acknowledging the importance of the project said “for the past six months the community has been having issues with power but with the installation of the transformer and poles the power issues will be the things of the past while making life lot easier for residents. The residents were also appreciative of the government for coming to ease their suffering”
It will be recalled that the Executive of Alimosho Local Government during its executive summit earlier this year had approved the operation Light Up Alimosho project which also formed part its 2019 budget presentation.
The project is aimed at promoting and increasing the hours of businesses in Alimosho LG towards generating more IGR for the LG as the hours of its revenue personnel were also extended to accommodate those night businesses.
