LASG Arrests 31 Persons For Violating Environmental Laws

    ….Offenders Arraigned In Environmental Court

    The Lagos State government agencies have arrested 31 persons for allegedly disposing waste at unauthorized locations.

    An act that contravenes the Lagos environmental laws according to the government,

    According to LAWMA, the 31 persons were apprehended by the men of Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) in the early hours of morning while disposing their waste at unauthorized locations across the state.

    LAWMA added that they would be arraigned before the court the Environmental Court, Oshodi, as stipulated by the state environmental law.

    In other hand; the agency also alerted the Lagos State Transportation Management Agency (LASTMA) and other sister agencies to arrest a woman driving a yellow car with the registered number plate FST 670 YF, who was sighted this morning (Tuesday) at Adeniyi Jones junction inwards Aromire, dropping waste from her car.

    LAWMA said all efforts to make her pick up the waste proved abortive, as she drove off.

    “All LASTMA officials are hereby notified to flag her car down anywhere she is seen. She will be arrested and prosecuted according to environmental laws of the state.
