WELCOME ADDRESS DELIVERED BY MR KEHINDE ADEBAYO; ASSISTANT
DIRECTOR, PUBLIC AFFAIRS UNIT, MINISTRY OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT
AND COMMUNITY AFFAIRS AT THE INTERACTIVE SESSION WITH
COMMUNITY MEDIA PRACTITIONERS ACROSS THE 57 LOCAL
GOVERNMENTS/LOCAL COUNCIL DEVELOPMENT AREAS IN LAGOS
STATE HELD AT THE CONFERENCE ROOM OF THE MINISTRY OF LOCAL
GOVERNMENT & COMMUNITY AFFAIRS, ALAUSA SECRETARIAT, IKEJA
    ON THURSDAY, DECEMBER 15, 2022
    PROTOCOL
It is my pleasure to welcome you all to this interactive session for
Community Media Practitioners across our Local Government/Local
Council Development Areas in Lagos State.
This interactive session is in line with Mr Governor; Mr Babajide Olusola
Sanwo-Olu’s Agenda of bringing Governance closer to the people,
hence its’ approval of the interactive session with Community Media
Practitioners across the State to ensure that there is effective and
efficient information dissemination to the grassroots in the State.

My deepest gratitude to Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for his
approval for this interactive session. Surely, he is a man driven with
purpose and concern for the grassroots. He has seen ahead of time
the damage false information and repertoire can do to the image of
the State, thus the need to tell our stories ourselves rather than have
    someone do it for us.

I also want to welcome our special guest of honour, our own Special
Adviser to the Governor on Community Affairs; Honourable
Babatunde Adewale Jimoh for noticing the significance of
Community Media Practitioners in the building of the Lagos State of our dreams.

In extension, I welcome the Chairman, Lagos State Community
Development Advisory Council, Alhaji Azeez Amusat and appreciate
his involvement in the capacity building of Community Media
    Practitioners in Lagos State.
The role of Community Media cannot be over emphasised, hence the
need for this periodic capacity building trainings for practitioners, such
as the one being witnessed today.

The sole aim of this august gathering is to enable practitioners project
the programmes, activities and policies of government in the manner
    easily understood by the public.
To participants here present; I want to assure you that seasoned
facilitators are here to equip you with tools needed to engage in the
best practices as Community Media Practitioners; and I believe that it
would be an interesting interactive session for brain racking
    deliberations.

Today, you will be exposed to Modern Media Practice in News
Dissemination and acquire knowledge on Best Practices in News
Reporting and Media Relations with the Government and the
    Communities you represent.
I crave you pay apt attention during the sessions.

Once again, I welcome you all
    Thank you and God bless.
    Igbega Ipinle Eko, Ajumose
