A former member of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Dr. Abdul Azeez Olajide Adediran, commonly known as JANDOR has formally defected to the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Adediran is the Lead Visioner of a political group, Lagos4Lagos Movement.

The defection ceremony which was brief took place at the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) in Lagos Island on Friday, and had in attendance all PDP Governors in the southern part of the country.

While addressing party supporters, the PDP National Chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, urged party supporters to take the party campaign to the doorsteps of other party’s supporters, saying that the party would not only clinch Lagos State from APC, but would also come to the State for the inauguration of a new PDP President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2023.

Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazau described Jandor as a viable and strategic party member. He said his defection was a good omen to the PDP in Lagos State.

Adediran while speaking after bring handed a PDP membership card indicted the APC leadership for opposing the entrenchment of internal democracy.

He vowed that PDP would wrestle power from the APC in 2023 general elections, citing the case of the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, whom he said was considered as an underdog, but succeeded in winning 2019 Governorship election and presently performing very well
