The publishers of Kosofe InsideOut Newspaper questions the legality of the swearing in of the Vice Chairman of Ikosi/Ketu LCDA following the demise of its substantive chairman last week.

When the news broke of the death of its former chairman Hon Abdulfatai Oyesanya many believed that the mantle of leadership will automatically fall on the vice chairman Princess Samiat Bada. However, from the Lagos state guidelines that governs the administration of Local Government, where this was not expressly stated rather it states that in the absence of the chairman his/her vice becomes Acting Chairman.

This guideline was not followed as the vice was sworn in as a substantive chairman thereby creating a lacuna with the guideline.

The publisher, Mr Lekan Lawal is therefore demanding the grounds of this willful breach of constitution by the relevant authorities and demanding the amendment of the guideline to forestall further promotion of illegality in the political space.

This was made available through its official Twitter handle @kosofeinsideout which has attracted comments and reactions.
