IKEJA ELECTRIC CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY IN STYLE

Nigeria’s largest electricity distribution company, recently celebrated International Women’s Day with a hybrid event featuring A-list speakers who inspired and empowered the company’s female employees.

The event, which was part of Ikeja Electric’s efforts to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment, featured keynote speakers such as Mrs. Ibukun Awosika, Mrs. Betty Irabor, and Maye Ayida, among others.

In her opening remarks, Ikeja Electric’s CEO, Mrs. Folake Soetan, celebrated the women of Ikeja Electric, encouraging them to own their spaces with boldness and confidence. She emphasized the need to break systemic barriers and biases faced by women in professional and personal spheres.

The speakers shared their personal experiences and insights on various topics, including women in leadership, employee well-being, mental health, and financial literacy.

Mrs. Ibukun Awosika, founder of Chair Centre Group and TheLifeSeriesNg, spoke on the importance of speeding up actions that strengthen other women and open doors of greatness for them.

Mrs. Betty Irabor, publisher and founder of Genevieve Magazine, emphasized the need for prioritizing employee well-being, while Maye Ayida, CEO of Eden Lifestyle, encouraged women to be intentional about training their minds and taking care of their physical health.

Other speakers included Jummai Logun, founder/head aesthetician at Skin Esthetique, who shared tips on ageing gracefully; Toyin Kekere-Ekun, CEO of Lotus Financial Services, who spoke on the importance of financial literacy; and Olufunke Jones, who emphasized the need for gender parity and shared the basic C’s for women to succeed.

The event was well-received by Ikeja Electric’s female employees, who were inspired and motivated by the speakers’ messages.

In her vote of thanks, Mrs. Sequinah Akinwunmi, CFO of Ikeja Electric, expressed gratitude to the speakers and emphasized the company’s commitment to promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment.
