The level of abandonment and neglect residents of Ifedapo CDA, Abule-Odu and environs wallow in can never be over emphasized. This can be attributed to their being boundary communities in Mosan-Okunola and Egbe-Idimu LCDAs. Currently, these communities are on the verge of being cut off from other communities due to the lack of accessible roads. But the communities are taking the bull by the horns by providing palliative measures for themselves.

Recently, after much complains the Egbe –Idimu LCDA provided two trips of rubbles to fill a worsening portion on Oduwole Road which was listed for reconstruction under Governor Ambode’s 181 Community Roads Project, which is yet to see the light of the day despite its approval.

These communities harbor thousands of residents from Graceland and Gloryland Estates to Mechanic Village and in streets such as Awari, Mustapha Adeleke, Michael Aladesuyi, George Ademuwagun, Mayowa Adekaye, Oluwadarasimi, Redemption Street, Oduwole Road etc. The people are not deterred by their predicament as the environment has continually experienced reasonable development in commerce and the springing up of SMEs just to make sure life is meaningful for residents of these communities.

Recently, a foremost pharmaceutical company opened a shop in this community to bridge the gap and relieve residents of the stress of travelling to town to get their prescriptions and immediate
administration of first aid in the case of an emergency. In the same vein, the village is now blessed with a Firstmonie agent providing alternative banking services for payment of bills and withdrawals and even more. The youths in the environment are not left out as there are a number of sports betting points for them and joints around to meet with their social needs. To further ease the stress of
families in accessing cooking gas, a modern gas point has now been opened in the community to compete with other outlets outside the community.

In addition, the community has easy access for the repair and maintenance of their cars in the Mechanic Village rightly positioned there. And, like every other good thing that has its ills, the community also has a flash point that harbours miscreants where boys are seen quenching their urge for illicit drugs such as Indian hemp and its likes. This point is well known to the police as its officers frequent come to make arrests on a regular basis.

The Alimosho Mail Newspaper, therefore, implores the relevant authorities to further aid in sustaining the trend of development by providing at least an accessible route for these communities.
