One wonders why a Street not too far away from the ever busy Egbeda bus stop and besides a major route to the Secretariat of its host LCDA- Mosan Okunola LCDA is subjected to such inhumane and reckless abandoned.
For over a decade, residents of Abeokuta Street has been subjected to untold hardships as they watch helplessly as floods ravages their street uprooting drainages making it impassable by motorists as car owners park their cars in neighboring streets with both the local and state government closing their eyes to their plight.
Despite the previous several reports on various platforms; The Alimosho Mail inclusive yet the neglect persists.
Recently, the plight of its residents once more came to the limelight as a group visited the street for a sanitation and sensitisation exercise that was followed by a viral video on the social media.
One may hope that its time for the appropriate authority to right the wrong or better still correct this huge sign of gross failure as the time for political settlement is currently geared towards the 2021 local government election and the current registration/validation of membership by All Progressive Congress (APC) as the street hosts not a minimum of three polling units expected to host the later exercise.
