Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has assured the public that the 5-kilometer Okania-Ogbogoro Road will be completed by December. The road, located in the Akpor area of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, aims to alleviate traffic congestion caused by the ongoing Port Harcourt Ring Road construction.
During an inspection tour on Monday, Governor Fubara expressed satisfaction with the progress made, noting that 90% of the drainage work has been completed. He commended the residents of Okania and Ogbogoro communities for their enthusiasm and excitement about the project, which had been abandoned for 14 years.
The Governor stated, “We flagged off this project two months ago, recognizing its importance and the suffering of our people due to the Ring Road construction. I’m pleased with the progress made, and the contractor has assured us that they will complete the project by August or September, with the remaining work to be finished by December.”
Governor Fubara’s commitment to completing the Okania-Ogbogoro Road demonstrates his administration’s focus on infrastructure development and improving the lives of Rivers State residents.
