Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has suspended two commissioners and other officials from his cabinet due to alleged gross misconduct and dereliction of duties.
Engineer Francis Ori, Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, has been indefinitely suspended, while Dr. Moses Ekuma, Commissioner for Health and Social Development, will face a three-month suspension.

Executive Secretaries of the State Primary Healthcare Development Agency and State Health Insurance Agency: Both suspended for three months
In the meantime, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Primary Health will take charge of the Ministry of Health.
The suspended officials have been directed to hand over all government properties, including vehicles, to the State Secretary of the Government by the close of work on Monday, November 25, 2024.
This development comes after Governor Nwifuru earlier suspended the Commissioner for Water Resources, Chinedum Nkah, indefinitely for dereliction of duties. The governor emphasized his administration’s commitment to the people’s charter of needs.
