With two weeks to the commencement of the general elections, the Lagos State Ministry of Education has announced a two half term breaks to accommodate the election dates scheduled for February 16th and March 2nd, 2019.
This was made known to journalists after today’s meeting at Alausa to find a way of keeping the children at home during the elections’ hence the first half term break will commence on February 13th, 2019 through February 18th, 2019 as classes will resume on Tuesday February 19th, 2019 to accommodate the presidential and National Assembly elections.
The second half term break that will accommodate the gubernatorial and state assembly elections will take effect from February 28th – March 4th, 2019 as classes are expected to resume on Tuesday, March 5th. Boarders are expected to return by the evening of February 4th 2019.
It also announced that this years World Book Day is to be observed on Thursday March 7, 2019 while urging parents to take note of these changes as we hope for trouble free elections.
