The Federal Government has announced a free Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) conversion initiative for vehicle owners in Lagos State. The program, part of the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGi), aims to reduce the cost of living and transportation expenses.

Starting Friday, September 13, from 3 pm to 6 pm, six designated locations in Lagos will offer free CNG conversion kits to the first 50 vehicles that pass inspection. The locations are:

1. Femadec, Lekki-Epe Expressway
2. Portland, Ojota Interchange Terminal
3. Mezovest, Lekki-Epe Expressway, Ajah
4. Dana Motors, Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, Isolo
5. MBH Power, Ikotun Road, Itamope, Ikorodu
6. Autogig, Gbagada Expressway, Gbagada

Vehicle owners who take advantage of this offer will be able to refuel at ₦230 per SCM of CNG at any NIPCO station, resulting in significant savings compared to petrol.

This initiative is part of a larger effort to transform Nigeria’s transportation sector, which includes introducing over 11,500 CNG-enabled vehicles and 55,000 conversion kits for petrol vehicles.

Similar exercises will also be held in Abeokuta, Ibadan, Abuja, and Kaduna on September 13 and 14.
