Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu, has warned the Nigerian government of an impending famine due to the removal of fuel subsidies. He criticized the government for enriching governors while the poor suffer and urged President Bola Tinubu to hire experts to address the economic crisis.
Mbaka emphasized Nigeria’s rich resources but blamed poor leadership for the suffering and insecurity. He called for industrialization, technology, steady power supply, and lower interest rates to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians.
The Catholic priest warned that the country is heading towards famine and urged people to take action to survive. He also cautioned church leaders to prepare to provide for their faithful.
Mbaka praised Burkina Faso for refusing to borrow from the International Monetary Fund, unlike Nigeria, which is perpetually borrowing. He emphasized the need for the government to unlock the country’s potential and provide for its citizens.
The cleric’s message served as a stern warning to the government to address the economic crisis and alleviate the suffering of Nigerians.
