Egbin Power has reaffirmed its commitment to safety excellence, as 28 employees have been inducted into the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON). This certification solidifies Egbin Power’s efforts to promote high safety standards and build a competent workforce.
According to Julius Akpong, Head of Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE), “This accomplishment demonstrates our unwavering commitment to high safety practices and standards. Empowering our workforce creates a safer and more productive environment for all.”
Kaizer Ebiwari, ISPON’s National President, praised Egbin Power for embracing high safety standards and professionalism. “These newly inducted employees will advance safety within Egbin Power and the Nigerian power industry, contributing to effective safety measures and a sustainable operating environment.
The training was facilitated through Egbin Power’s Learning Academy and ISPON. The 28 employees completed the required curriculum, equivalent to ISPON Level 3, qualifying them for membership.
Gabriel Nkanga, Head of HR, applauded the Institute and inductees, saying, “This induction validates our commitment to safety excellence and provides our employees with tools to drive continuous improvement.”
Esther Adediji, QHSE Department, expressed excitement to leverage her accomplishment to drive safety improvements. Mayowa Ajuwon, Support Service Department, praised the certification for contributing significantly to his professional development.
Egbin Power’s collaboration with ISPON strengthens its position as a leader in the power sector, prioritizing safety and sustainability.
ISPON is recognized by Nigerian law to regulate safety management, empowered by the ISPON Act 2014.
