As the workers resumed back to their duty posts on Wednesday after the Yuletide festive holidays to kickstart the new year, it was a pleasant sight to behold as the administration of Hon. Sakura Adisa Yusuf, the Chairman of Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA started the year with a prayer session.
The event which took place at the Marriage Registry hall of the council was well attended by all arms of the government. The chairman in his speech ” I am filled with great delight to welcome you all to this significant event marking the first general meeting of the year and the first prayer session in our LCDA. First and foremost, I give all praise, all adorations and all glorifications to Almighty Allah who has given us His divine grace and mercy to witness this day and the new year with a new beginging, I heartily welcome you the Executive team, Management team, Legislative arms and the entire staff ” He said.
He further themed the 2019 working year as “a year of progress and abundant life”.
He emphasized on the need for dedication, punctuality and pleaded with the staff to change their negative attitudes and embrace that of a pleasant working environment .
He added that there will be an inauguration of the Revenue Collection Resume Committee (RCRC) in which all sectional heads, HOA and few others will be part of the board members to checkmate and give proper account of the council IGR. Sakiru promised to look into several request by members of staff and the appeal by the Nulge Chairman as regard to the “revenue bus” which he acknowledged is essential for the mobility of revenue personnel and other needed council materials.
The Council Mayor assured the Human Resource Officer on plans for various training to boast their working capability and human efficiency in service delivery of the council staff. He pleaded with the staff on the need to make use of their ID card or tags for easy identification and recognition and promised the staff that merit awards will be introduced and given to deserving staff with considerations so as to encourage them to work harder. Also he promised that infrastructural development will commence within the LCDA in earnest.
