President of the Nigeria Football Federation Ibrahim Gusau has admitted that appointing George Finidi as the coach of the Super Eagles was not an easy decision.
The football apex body in the country on Monday announced the appointment of the Enyimba International coach as the coach of the senior side.
While speaking with journalists, Gusau said the decision was not easy but a further stated that they would support him.
” It wasn’t an easy decision. We’ve to begin to trust our own. We will give Finidi all the respect and support he needs”, he said.
The former Real Betis winger will have his first competitive game against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in the 2026 World Cup qualifier in June.
