The secretariat of the Association of Practitioners of Community Media in Nigeria (APCOM) has been burdened with activities heralding its Annual General meeting and election of new members of executives positions for the next two years.
The activities had kicked off with the release of electoral guideline by the Electoral Committee headed by the publisher of Pivot Newspaper Prince Obafemi Adesanya, followed with the screening exercise of aspirants and the subsequent extension of the screening exercise to accommodate intending members who were unable to meet up with the initial deadline.
With the conclusion of the screening exercise, social media has been set ablaze as candidates try to woo electorates for their votes through intense campaigns while the outgoing executive members are dotting the i’s and t’s on their stewardship in the last two years.
The annual general meeting/ election is scheduled to hold on Friday January 17, 2020 at the prestigious Ilupeju Recreation Hall, at10am prompt, the AGM/election will be monitors by external observers from the Ministry of information and Strategy Lagos state, Ministry of Local Government & Community Affairs, NPAN, Nigerian Union of Journalists amongst others.
