The Eid Kabir holidays may have come and gone but not for the members of the community Development Committee and Community Development Association as the duo were hosted yesterday by the governor of Lagos State Mr Akinwunmi Ambode for the celebration of the salah. The event which was held at the Police College Ikeja as through the Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs.
The Special Adviser to the Governor, His Excellency, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode on Communities and Communications Hon Akeem Sulaimon who represented the Governor at the event delivered the keynote noted that, “this annual celebration signifies the triumph of faith and the assurance that Almighty Allah will always open a way for those who have absolute trust in his grace. It is a day to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim’s faith in Allah”.
Ambode also use the occasion to reassure all residents that his administration remain committed to the welfare and well-being of all citizens irrespective of their location within the state without prejudice to ethnic, religious, political and socio-economic background.
According to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government & Community Affairs Mr. Fola Padonu, who coincidentally celebrates his birthday today stated that the event is first of its kind in Lagos State.
Other dignitaries present include the Commissioner for Local Government & Community Affairs Hon. Musilim Folami, Vice Chairman APC Lagos Central Hon Hakeem Bamgbola, Alhaji Tajudeen Quadri Chairman Lagos State Community Advisory Council among others
