The need to protect consumers and rid its environment of substandard products in Alimosho, the Executive Chairman of Alimosho local government, Hon. Jelili Sulaimon had met with the chambers of Femi Falana a renowned human rights activist on the need to establish a consumer protection council office in Alimosho Local Government.
Hon. Jelili confirmed that the , “processes have commenced to establish the center soon as in Alimosho Local Government Secretariat”.
When established, the agency whose responsibilities include making sure that consumers get value for their monies paid for products and services will enable citizens of Alimosho to get their right when shortchanged in any business transactions that will include issues on house rent, substandard products, failure in services delivery amongst others.
The step is geared towards reducing substandard products and protecting constituents from losses through buying of such products or failure in service delivery while on the other hand promote the confidence of consumers in patronizing businesses within the community .
