… Social Distance Order must be maintained amongst other measures
With the numbers of infected persons rising by the day within Alimosho LGA, Lagos State and Nigeria at large; the Alimosho Youth Development Association of Nigeria [AYDAN] has raised concerns over the pandemic, more so; as there are arrangements by the six Chairmen of the LG/LCDAs to embark on stimulus distribution within the wards in their various constituencies.
In a statement by its President, Comrade Ogungbade Olawale Lateef made available to The Alimosho Mail, the association noted it’s awareness on the arrangements on commencing distribution of foods items across all the wards in Alimosho Federal Constituency effective Thursday, April 9, 2020 and therefore urges the chairmen on adequate safety measures while the exercise lasts and making sure that beneficiaries/residents adhere to the social distancing order as stipulated by the National Commission for Disease Control [NCDC] and Lagos State government to avoid escalating the figures.
He further stated that the none compliance with the social distancing order and the usual dis-orderliness observed during previous distribution of palliative materials might have given rise to the increase in the number of infected cases in the Local Government, and therefore implore all the Local Government Chairmen to take precautionary measures so as to thwart the government’s efforts in containing the pandemic.
He appealed to residents of Alimosho Local Government Area to continue maintaining all safety guidelines regularly issued by all relevant authorities and also maintain a high standard of hygiene as he believes that Alimosho LGA and Nigeria as a whole will win the current pandemic war.
