The Executive Chairman Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Jelili Sulaimon has assured the residents of Jimoh Akinremi, Victoria and Church Streets of government support in their communities on the perennial flooding in the area.
The Chairman gave this assurance during an unscheduled inspection of the community during the weekend to assess the impact of flood during this rainy season.
While inspecting various outlets which were seen as impediment to the flow of flood in the area, he observed that the outflows of water were too tiny to aid its free flow.
He urged the Environmental and Work department staff of the local government in his entourage to come up with adequate plan to correct the anomaly.
He reiterated that his government will work harder to ensure that flooding within the Jimoh bus stop is reduced to its bearest minimum while noting that residents must desist from indiscriminate disposal of refuse on the streets and the drainages.
It would be recalled that the residents of Jimoh Akinremi, a section of Akowonjo road, Victoria and Church Streets have been facing perennial flooding which has resulted in the loss of properties and damages to government infrastructure.
