The newly completed Primary Health Center on Akowonjo Road by Valcanizer bus stop in Alimosho local government is set for commissioning, the health center which is first of the models of health centers proposed for each ward of the LG will be commissioned on February 12th, 2019. Hon. Jelili Sulaimon said “it is our believe that each ward in Alimosho LG should have a PHC of this model”.
The redesigned and reconstructed PHC by the current administration of Honourable Sulaimon Jelili will feature among other units as; the Maternity , family planning, child welfare, DOT, Antenatal clinic, dental and eye clinic, pharmacy unit, laboratory services, scan unit and NPI unit where all private hospitals in Alimosho will collect immunization vaccine.
Prior to this administration, the health center had fewer units though it’s hours of operations were increased to 24 hours services to at least bridge the wide gap in health services but with its current status it sure will further increase the much desired health services within the LG.
It will be recalled that few weeks back Veritas has pledged to partner with the LG in providing solar lightening for the PHC while provisions already been made for its equipping in the LG’s current year’s budget presented to the Legislative arm on January 31, 2019.
The MOH of Alimosho Local Government, Dr. Mrs Titilayo Oni described the facility as “a one stop center for qualitative health care delivery”.
