Awori street in Egbeda area of Alimosho was thrown into shock when the news broke that a girl identified as Keji has bitten off the tongue of a boy identified as Yussuf while trying to rape her. Investigation revealed that Keji, a student had come to visit her family members for the Yuletide holidays for two weeks within which she was approached for a relationship by Yusuf who works with a game betting shop as an agent.
Keji had turned down his request citing her existing serious relationship which he accepted but for the two to become friends and exchanged numbers as evidenced by their WhatsApp messages. On the fateful day, Yusuf had requested Keji to come for a parting gift since she was to leave for school the next day, as he had earlier promised to buy her some items from the grocery store within the neighborhood. They proceeded to withdraw cash from the ATM on their way to the grocery, on their way, Yusuf received a call from another friend of his who we could not identify, he then requested Keji to accompany him to his friend’s meters away from her relatives house for few minutes.
On getting to the place she was not willing to enter into the compound with Yusuf but for insistence from his friend who came out to persuade her. Unsuspecting of any danger, she followed them into an uncompleted part of the house only for the friend to excuse them almost immediately. At that point, Yusuf started forcing her to have canal access of her private part by manhandling her during the process her pant was torn with bruises on her thighs and neck. In a swift reaction of self defense while Yusuf was trying to forcefully kiss her, she bit off his tongue. At that point, he got up and started screaming as blood was gushing out. The girl immediately reached out to her phone and called her aunt for her rescue.
The girl’s action had arisen tempers of Yusuf’s friends who demanded to have their pound of flesh on her for her action while Yusuf was rushed to a nearby private hospital for treatment. As at the time of filing this report, Yusuf mother who was informed of the matter had arrived from Kwara state to see her son, though not in support of her son’s actions but pleaded for the girls family to have pity on him while noting that she never had any idea of his son’s sojourn to Lagos as he had repeatedly profess living in Ilorin to her via their numerous telephone conversations.
The matter was claimed to have been reported to the Idimu Police Divisional headquarters but could not be confirmed by the DPO via telephone conversation as he promised to investigate and revert.
