President Bola Tinubu convened a meeting with service chiefs at the State House in Abuja on Tuesday.
The service chiefs, including General Christopher Musa (Chief of Defence Staff), Lt-General Taoreed Lagbaja (Chief of Army Staff), Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar (Chief of Air Staff), and Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla (Chief of Naval Staff), had arrived earlier and awaited the President, who was returning from an event outside the State House.
National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu was also present at the meeting, which aimed to address the escalating issues of terrorism, kidnapping, and violence across the country. Simultaneously, on January 15, 2024, Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun convened a crucial session with the Force Management Team and Tactical Squads to tackle growing concerns about insecurity.
During the meeting, the IGP expressed deep concern about abductions in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and underscored the imperative for decisive measures to counter such heinous crimes.
