    Lagos state governor Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has directed the state to comply with the Monday May 2 and Tuesday May 3rd dates as declared by the Federal government.

    The state had through its circular No18 from the office the head of service announced a three days public holiday that included Wednesday May 4, but had to retract that with circular N023 that reads in part;

    The Federal Government for the Year 2022 ,International workers day and Id-El-Fitr celebrations are Monday 2nd and Tuesday 3rd May, 2022, respectively. Mr. Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has graciously approved that those dates be so observed.

    As part of activities to mark the international workers day and in line with its tradition, a March Past of various Workers/Trade Unions will take place at Mobolaji Johnson Arena,
    Onikan, Lagos on Sunday, 1st May, 2022 at 9.00am with Mr. Governor as Special Guest of Honour.

    Whilst wishing all Public Servants, especially our Muslim Brothers and Sisters who observed
    fasting during the Holy Month of Ramadan, a wonderful celebration, members of Staff are enjoined
    to stay safe during both celebrations.

    Public Servants in the State are therefore to disregard the resumption date stated in CIRCULAR
    NO 018 of 27th April, 2022 and note that work resumes on Wednesday, 4th May, 2022 at 8:00am prompt.

    Accounting Officers of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) are to note the content of
    this Circular and ensure Service-wide publicity. It concluded.

    By this all civil servant are to disregard the earlier circular and resume work on Wednesday
