The presidential candidate if the Labour Party in the 2023 election H.E. Peter Obi has sympathised with traders of Powerline Market in Aba, Abia state on the recent fire incident that destroyed millions of goods and properties.
Mr Obi noted that the pains of their loses is even worse considering the economic hardship the nation is going through.
He urged authorities to make sure that a reoccurrence is forestalled by ascertaining the cause of the fire incident and urged well meaning Nigerians to support the victims to enable their recovery.

“I am saddened by the reports of a fire incident at Powerline Market, Aba, Abia State, which destroyed goods worth millions of Naira. Sad occurrences like this become even more painful when you consider the very challenging economic times that the nation is currently passing through. I sincerely sympathise with the victims of this unfortunate fire incident and all the traders at that market who have suffered losses. I urge the relevant agencies to carry out a thorough investigation and ascertain the cause of the fire to help prevent future occurrences. I also encourage the state government and concerned persons and institutions to come to the aid of the victims and help them get back on their feet. -PO”
