Prince Idris Sets To Empower 2,000 Youths Through Oluomo Kafata Agriculture Scheme

Prince Idris Balogun aka Oluomo Kafata is set to empower 2,000 youths in Alimosho through Oluomo Kafata agriculture scheme as he acquires another 5 hectares of farmland in Ogun State in expansion of his already existing Oluomo Kafata farm where foodstuffs like yams, corns, vegetables and other perishable farm produces are being harvested and distributed to some vulnerable people in the society.

According to him, “I actually discovered that many of our youths are jobless and instead of giving them handouts which have been the norms within our political circle in Alimosho, it is better to engage and empower them to be self-reliance, financially independent and useful to them. Also, once they are useful to themselves, they will be useful to the society at large.

“On Oluomo Kafata agriculture scheme, l decided to acquire more vast farmlands in order to take many of our youths off the streets on periodic basis and engage them in various farming skills that will in turn add to food supply in Alimosho federal constituency and beyond.

The youths will not only be trained by agricultural experts, but they will be given portions of farmland to practise on what they are trained on, while we will be providing conducive farm hostels where they will stay within the farm settlement.

“To those who have been calling me and sending messages for financial assistance in one way or the other, l appeal to you all to change your mindsets from sharing of handouts to sharing of wealths through empowerment programmes that can change lives.

Meanwhile, this ‘sharing and collecting of handouts’ mentality is what kept Alimosho in political bondage for years without developmental strides to show for all the resources accruing to its constituents.

He assured that more empowerment programmes and schemes, especially for women are underway as he reiterates his commitment to the Alimosho project
